March
March was a busy month and we are all looking forward to our Easter holidays. This month we did The Three Little Pigs for Aistear. We listened to a few different versions of the traditional story and enjoyed all the work we did on it. We had World Book Day and dressed up as our favourite book characters. We also went on a little trip to the library. The librarian Catherine read us a story and we made paper planes. We had our Open Day and welcomed some of the new Junior Infants and their parents to the school and we sang for them. St. Patrick's Day was fun and we had Lá Glas in school. Our school chicks hatched and we were able to see them from when they hatched to running around before they went safely back to the farm. We also went to Golden NS too see their production of Matilda. Have a lovely two weeks off!

This month we learned all about the farm and different jobs around the farm and farm animals and their babies. Our Aistear play stations were great fun. We also learned about the vet and what they do and how they help sick animals. We has a full day with Mike for animation. It was amazing - we made loads of cool creations out of lego and then made videos on the iPads with them. Check out our little videos below!

Janurary
It's hard to believe that we are a full month into the new year already! The boys settled back in very quickly after the Christmas break and got lots of work done. Our theme for Aistear was the restaurant and the boys had lots of fun with that. We read 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' and 'Handa's Surprise' and we tasted some of the different foods from these stories. Grandparents Day was such a lovely day in school- we always love welcoming in any Granny's and Grandad's who could visit us. We have done three weeks with Ray and Tina who have shown us how to cycle on balance bikes and some road safety rules. This is the highlight of our week at the moment and we'll be very sad to finish up with them next week. Danny, our GAA coach has been doing indoor hurling with us too at the moment and we are loving this as well. It has been a busy month again in Room 4! We hope you enjoy looking at some of our pictures.

December
December went by so fast! There was a lot going on in school this month. It started with a visit from Santa's Elf to our room! He was a funny little guy who got up to a little mischief in our room! Before he went back to the North Pole he left us a lot of ingredients to make our very own Reindeer food for Christmas Eve. It was very exciting (I hope it worked it's magic and guided the reindeer to your house) We also had a Christmas Pajamas day and we all wore our pajamas to school - even the teachers! Our Aistear theme was Christmas as well and we made Christmas cookies, Christmas lego creations and had fun in Santa's Workshop. The biggest thing this month was our Christmas show, 'A Snowman at Sunset'. We put in a lot of time practicing and our teachers were so proud of us because it was really good. I'm sure all the audience would agree and you will get a link to watch it soon. Have a look at some of the photos of this month:

November
We are having another busy month here in Senior Infants. Mr. Finnan has been teaching us for the last three weeks and we have done lots of interesting lessons with him. We will miss him next week when he is gone. The weather finally allowed us to do our penalty shootout and we scored loads of goals! Thanks to everyone who raised money for our school. For Aistear we learned all about the doctor and what happens when we go for a check up. We had science week which was really cool- we think you'll enjoy looking through the photos. We have started practicing for our Christmas Play as well and cannot wait to perform it for you next month.

October
We can't believe it is nearly the end of October and mid term break!! We have had another very busy few weeks! First up we had great fun learning all about the Fire Station. Then we went on an autumn trail in the school yard to find some autumn signs: we found conkers, lots of different coloured leaves and we searched for berries, pine cones and squirrels! We also had 'Maths Week' and we did lots fun math activities exploring shapes, length, height, data. The Magician came to visit which we absolutely loved and we all dressed up for Halloween! It was a great month!

September
We had a great month of September settling into Senior Infants. Here are some photos of us during our 'Golidlocks' and 'Home' aistear themes. We painted bears, build houses using blocks, role played the story, made lego homes and furniture, sorted pictures of furniture into the correct rooms and played with the toy houses and kitchen!
The Sensory Garden
We got a very exciting delivery for our sensory garden - a story telling chair and a bench! We went out when the weather was nice and Ms. Cahill read us a story. We will get to use this loads more in the spring and summer!
We have really enjoyed playing during stations this week and working together. Here are some photos of our fine motor and literacy stations:
