Gymnastics Strand!
We are focusing on the P.E curriculum strand of gymnastics for the months of January & February. Mr Whelan has delivered gymnastics lessons through Seesaw which has seen some fantastic engagement! Mr Whelan is working through this strand with the help of the PSSI lesson plans! It is great to see our boys keeping active while learning at home! You can view Mr Whelan's gymnastics lessons below! 😀

Lesson 1: Movement

Warm up-  10 jumping jacks
                  10 tuck jumps
                  10 lunges
                  10 squat-jumps
                  10 high knees 
Movement- around cones/ markers 3 times each:
                  -running
                  -hopping
                  -skipping
                  -backward walk/jog

Balance- move through the hula hoop/circle of cones without touching by 1. Walking 2. Running 3. Hopping two feet together 4. Right leg 5. Left leg

Challenge: Put 30 seconds on the clock and hop in and out of the cone without touching cones/hula hoop. My Score was 22 can anyone beat it ?

Lesson 2: Jumping

This is our PE lesson for our second week back! 
Warm up-  10 jumping jacks
                  10 tuck jumps
                  10 lunges
                  10 squat-jumps
                  10 high knees 

Movement- jumps-
2 feet to 2 feet 
1 foot to 1 foot left foot
1 foot to 1 foot right foot
2 feet to 1 foot
1 foot to 2 feet
Do each jump 5 times!

Challenge: balance on 1 leg and see how many jumps you can do. My record is 6!

Lesson 3: Making shapes with your body!

Warm up- 10 jumping jacks
10 tuck jumps
10 lunges
10 squat-jumps
10 high knees

Movements-
Bear walk- 3 times
Caterpillar walk- 3 times
Crab walk- 3 times

Shapes-
Pin shape
Ball shape
Star shape
